Job Summary
Owensboro Community and Technical College invites applications to apply for part-time/temporary faculty as an English Instructor in the Heritage, Humanities, and Fine Arts Department. Primary teaching assignments may include: developmental writing workshop, Writing I, and Writing II. This position reports directly to the Department Head.
Job Duties
• Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice of English.
• Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students with differing educational experiences, experiential backgrounds, and learning styles to assist them in meeting course competencies. Evaluates students’ progress towards stated course competencies and inform them of their progress in a timely manner.
• Provide quality and timely access to students and communicates availability through appropriate methods such as posted campus/office hours and electronic communication. Maintains professional relationship with colleagues, students, and the community.
Minimum Qualifications
• Master's degree from an accredited university with 18 graduate hours of coursework in English is required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred
• Preferred for the candidate to have experience with instructional technologies, including presentation software and learning management systems (i.e., Blackboard, Ultra, Canvas).
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
