Duties And Responsibilities
• Ensure implementation and continuing operation of Tekni-Plex Safety Standards and Safety Principles is integrated into plant Safety Policy.
• Disseminate of safety information received from the Global Safety Team or Business Unit to all employees at the facility.
• Responsible for consolidation and feedback of specified safety matters (eg monthly reports, accident reports to the Global Safety Team and Business Unit.
• Maintain and update all written policies and procedures pertaining to employee, visitor and vendor safety.
• Responsible for implementing the ongoing program of safety observations, audits and daily reviews at the facility.
• Provide facilitation, coaching and direct support to facility employees to identify and address address safety hazards/issues at the facility.
• Work with line management at the facility to ensure that established safety policies, practices, rules, regulations and procedures are followed to maintain a safe work environment.
• Investigate and report recordable injuries, near miss incidents, medical only injuries and establish root cause analysis for prevention of future occurrences.
• Manage the safety award and recognition programs.
• Conduct quarterly lifting equipment inspections (hoist, rigging, cables).
• Annual update and review of Plant Emergency Response Plan and Emergency Preparedness to include drills and training.
• Responsible for implementing the Safety Training Program including training for BBP, Fall Protection, Heat Stress, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Exposed Blades, First Aid, Powered Industrial Tools, PPE,
• Machine Guarding, Ergonomics, Hot Works, Lifting Equipment, Fire Safety, Hand Tools, etc., facilitating and providing direct support for training.
• Provide administrative coordination actions for the plant fire brigade, arranging and monitoring training and other support activities.
• Train to become a fire brigade leader/chief (optional).
• Conduct and document weekly environmental inspections for air, waste and stormwater.
• Coordinate safety-related activities at the facility to ensure compliance with Tekni-Plex and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain OSHA logs and related compliance documentation, and support the prompt reporting of Worker’s Compensation claims to Human Resources.
• Ensure plant complies with OSHA standards and regulatory reporting requirements.
Required
Education And Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree Safety, technical or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Knowledgable in OSHA Compliance and Regulations.
• Works under minimal Supervision, and possesses Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Desired
• Safety/health professional certifications, such as ASP, CSP, AIH, CIH.
• Prior experience as a facility safety leader in manufacturing site.
