By the Yard is currently looking for a Commercial Sales Business Development associate to lead the charge in the multi-family housing market. As Commercial Sales Business Development associate you would be responsible for generating sales through maintaining current partnerships, cultivating new relationships, trade shows, and providing the highest quality customer service. A successful candidate would have a design background and be highly organized, self-starter, and manage multiple projects at the same time.
This is a non-commission position.
Primary responsibilities include:
Generate sales with existing and new commercial customers.
Work with design team to maximize the commercial consumer's space and experience with our product.
Organize lunch & learns with designers and commercial clients.
Prepare and process sales quotes and orders.
Make recommendations to customers based on your inspection and issues identified by addressing any questions, explaining the process and setting expectations.
Responsible for the development and generation of new business opportunities and income for your assigned markets
Follow up on company provided leads and generate your own prospects and referrals.
Present high-value proposals to sales leaders, trainers and C-level executives
Achieve/exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales quota.
Identify, pursue, engage and close new clients and grow existing clients and opportunities including present, promote and offer services to potential and existing clients based on their needs.
Generate and qualify leads through various methods including cold calling, referrals, research, etc.
Complete market research and monitor competitor activity.
Undertake continual learning and education.
Ability to travel regionally with daily or overnight stays to have a consistent presence with local office staff, customers and prospects throughout your assigned market.

Requirements:
Travel is required for this position.
3 - 5 years of experience in business development or commercial sales preferred.
Strong relationship building skills.
Willingness and ability to drive to/transport and set up trade show booths anywhere in continental US as needed.
Position is located in Jordan, MN (not remote).
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience is property management, commercial real estate, project management, or design preferred.
Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, multi-task, shift demands, and willingness to be collaborative, and support team efforts.
Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and detail oriented.
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 365.
