Summary The Community Relations Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to build and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders, including local organizations, healthcare providers, residents, and government entities. This role involves creating and managing outreach programs, organizing events, and representing the organization in community forums. Develop and Implement Community Engagement Strategies: Design and execute strategies to increase community involvement and awareness of HCBS offerings, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and values. Build and Maintain Relationships: Cultivate and sustain positive relationships with key community leaders, healthcare providers, local agencies, and government officials to support the organization’s HCBS initiatives. Organize Community Events: Plan and oversee community events, including health fairs, informational seminars, and caregiver support groups, to promote HCBS services and foster community engagement. Manage Communications: Develop and distribute communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, and social media updates to promote HCBS programs and success stories. Monitor Community Sentiment: Track and analyze community feedback and public opinion regarding HCBS services to assess the impact of community relations efforts and address any concerns. Coordinate with Internal Teams: Collaborate with marketing, public relations, and other internal departments to ensure community engagement efforts align with organizational objectives and HCBS service offerings. Manage Budgets: Oversee the budget for community relations activities related to HCBS and ensure all programs are executed within the allocated budget. Prepare Reports: Compile reports on community relations activities, impact, and feedback related to HCBS services to inform strategic decisions and enhance future efforts. Other Duties as assigned within the Scope of this position Required Qualifications 3 months experience and/or education in the field of developmental disabilities or related. Acceptable experience includes but is not limited to caring for a family member with a disability, previous employment as a provider or a caregiver, a special education teaching degree, paraprofessional certification, volunteering with a disability-related community organization etc. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to pass a background check. Must complete and maintain the minimum necessary training classes Must be able to acquire and maintain a Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card. Must have reliable transportation to travel to events within the state of Arizona. (Approved mileage is reimbursed, and meal stipends are provided for qualifying events). Must be responsive to all event related communications within 24 business hours. Must be willing and able to work a variety of hours, including but not limited to early mornings, evenings or weekends. Flex time is provided for approved after-business hour events Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing Two (2) years of management or supervision experience Experience in leadership or management of an entity that services the ID/DD population or other similar population preferred Demonstrated experience in developing a creative, strategic approach to community growth and engagement.
