Job Title: Part-Time Accountant and Office Manager Location: New Ulm, MN Job Type: Part-Time About Us: CALA Contemporary Woodwork is a small business specializing in crafting custom furniture and cabinetry for residential and commercial spaces. We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant and Office Manager to manage our financial operations, maintain office efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance. Job Summary: The Part-Time Accountant and Office Manager will oversee accounting functions, ensure a safe and organized office environment, assist with inventory management, and ensure that all necessary licenses and registrations are current. This role is crucial for maintaining financial accuracy and compliant office operations. Key Responsibilities: Accounting Responsibilities: Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and reconciliation. Process employee payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution. Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, and manage tax payments. Handle rebate submissions and ensure all necessary documentation is provided. Maintain and update financial records, prepare journal entries, and assist with financial reporting. Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts. Office Management Responsibilities: Ensure the workspace is OSHA compliant and make recommendations for improvement. Assist with inventory management, including office supplies and equipment. Oversee the renewal and compliance of business licenses, vehicle registrations, DOT licenses, and other relevant permits. Manage facilities-related tasks, such as coordinating with vendors for repairs and ensuring the workspace is functional. Qualifications: Proven experience in accounting, including payroll and tax-related tasks. Experience in office management and administrative duties, with a focus on maintaining an efficient and compliant workspace. Proficiency in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and payroll processes. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
