Industrial Fabrication Services (IFS) in Lake Crystal, Minnesota is a custom metal fabrication facility that builds metal components for many bulk material-handling industries. Currently IFS employs about 100 people in a 75,000 square foot facility. IFS is located 12 miles southwest of Mankato, Minnesota, just off Highway 60, in the Lake Crystal Industrial Park. From this location IFS ships products throughout the continental USA, Canada, Mexico, and worldwide. IFS works primarily with general contractors, custom equipment manufacturers, mining companies, agricultural processors, and power generation facilities. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Drafting Operations Lead, the CAD Designer will ensure that projects are moving forward in a timely manner and are being completed to the satisfaction of the managers and the customer. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Work w/ Project Managers & Customers to create project & shop drawings 2. Assist shop personnel with questions that arise during the fabrication process 3. Assist Project Managers & Purchasing Department with questions as needed 4. Work with the Manufacturing Engineering Group to utilize the best possible process for manufacturing 5. Work with team members as needed to keep projects moving forward 6. Promote safe manufacturing operations by providing all relevant information to shop personnel 7. Communicate w/ Vendors, Customers & Contractors as needed throughout projects 8. Assist IFS management as needed 9. All other duties assigned by the Engineering Manager QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (this is encouraged, but not required) 2. 1 - 3 years industry knowledge in construction, fabrication or mechanical/technical fields 3. Proficient with CAD Software (Autodesk Inventor and Autocad preferred, but not required) 4. Proficient with Adobe and Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Excel, and Word 5. Must be thorough and attentive to details 6. Ability to work in a team atmosphere and pitch in where needed 7. Willingness to take on new responsibilities as IFS grows and roles change PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This role requires the ability to perform the following physical tasks: Essential: Regularly stand, walk, talk, and hear. Occasionally sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
