The Registered Nurse (RN) at RiverValley Behavioral Health Children's Hospital is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to children and adolescents receiving mental health services. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety, well-being, and effective treatment of our young patients. The RN will play a critical role in delivering patient-centered care, performing assessments, administering medications, and developing individualized care plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Deliver direct nursing care to children and adolescents, including conducting thorough assessments, monitoring vital signs, and evaluating patient progress. Treatment Planning: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient. Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and educate patients and their families on medication management. Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to any medical or psychiatric emergencies, providing appropriate interventions and support to stabilize patients. Patient Education: Provide education to patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and any necessary lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and well-being. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure that the care environment is safe and conducive to healing. Stay up-to-date with best practices, including infection control and patient safety standards. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing education and training opportunities to stay current with advances in pediatric mental health nursing. Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. BSN preferred. Licensure: Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [State]. Experience: Previous experience in pediatric or adolescent mental health nursing is strongly preferred. Experience in a hospital or inpatient setting is a plus. Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred. Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Salary: $70.3K - $89.1K a year
