The PRODUCTION TECH I functions as a lead on his/ her shift. Is responsible for the set up and operation of all the extrusion machinery. Must have strong leadership skills yet, can perform the functions of an Operator as well as an Extrusion Material Handler. JOB QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent GED required. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required. Must either have come up the ranks from Operator, Technical operator, Process technician or have equivalent Production Technical Expert I experience. Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment with previous machine operation experience strongly desired. If in a leadership capacity in a fast paced environment a plus. Ability to commute/relocate: 4800 Lina Lane, Dublin, VA, 24084: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Leads others and guides them to be directly responsible for the production and maintenance process in the machines assigned. Leads others to observe break times to ensure maximum output of machines Ensures that Operators, Technical Operators, Process Technicians, and others produce safe, legal, and quality products through assessment, inspections, and verifications of processes at all stages of manufacturing. Can request & direct others to request materials and assures the use of correct materials in their assigned machine, according with the bill of materials in the work order Understands and is able to program the high barrier extrusion process, PET, as well as the Motan, Somos & Piovan systems. Trains and can perform material handler duties as necessary. Trains others to record and maintain data related to downtime, including amount of time, reason for downtime and actions to correct the problem. Assure all information is filled in correctly to include but not limited to production sheets, efficiency system (Shop Logix), POP, cleaning forms, inspection forms, etc. $25 hr Day shift: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm Night shift: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
