Job Summary Responsible for assessment, development, and implementation of integrated wellness programs that are motivating and engaging and promotes the best mental and physical health possible for patients/ clients. Responsible for a variety of clinical and administrative tasks related to patient assessments with an emphasis on patient access and satisfaction while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and a high level of ethical behavior. # Job Responsibilities Develops and implements targeted wellness programming for local community and employee groups. Establishes wellness goals and monitors wellness programs that meet health outcomes, cost savings, and organizational objectives. Motivates individuals and groups to take steps for good health. Researches market and national trends in order to provide innovative initiatives. Responsible for creating and presenting special programs on and off site providing expertise and knowledge including speaking engagements, health fairs, biometric screenings, health coaching, or other Healthpark related events. Conducts biometric screenings for groups and offers health coaching to individuals. Schedules and reschedules appointment times and diagnostic testing using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and computerized programs as needed. Manages corporate wellness activities including health fairs and employee screenings for regional companies and Owensboro Health. Promotes integration and cross referral to other Healthpark programs and services in an effort to ensure comprehensive health promotion and wellbeing. Directs communication with internal and external clients as it relates to well-being initiatives. Develops short and long term goals and initiatives to support a culture of well-being throughout the organization and the communities we serve. Collects and records vital signs and performs specimen collection. Communicates effectively with patients, clients, team members, providers, external agencies and insurance companies. Greets patients as they arrive and rooms patients. Assists with performing patient assessments. Offers fitness and cardiovascular assessments, body composition and metabolic testing under the supervision of a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant. Responsible for documenting patient care provided, assessments, goals and outcomes in the EMR. Maintains examination areas, equipment and medical supplies, including ordering, reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. May be required to perform patient registration, pre-certification, pre-procedure instructions, patient check out and accept payments, copays and other fees for services during registration. Works closely with other organizational team members and employers in the areas Owensboro Health serves in efforts to reduce health care cost and initiate and expand health and well-being offerings and population health management. Qualifications Bachelor#s degree or higher in Exercise Physiology required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Exercise Science required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Health Science Field required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in related field required upon hire OR A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A minimum of 2 years# relevant experience required BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position AND First-aid certification required within 90 days of employment in this position AND NBC-HWC - National Board Certified Health # Wellness Coach through National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) required within 24 months of employment in this position Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
