Job Description
Position: Asphalt Plant Utility
Location: Owensboro, KY
Summary: This position will be responsible for daily lubing of plant and equipment, routine maintenance in and around the plant, repairs to plant and equipment, general laboring, heavy equipment operation, observing equipment in operation to detect potential problems, and assisting with all other daily operations of plant. In absence of the plant operator this position will be required to fill in for the plant operator. Operators will be responsible for overall plant operation from startup to shutdown, operating the plant controls to produce asphalt to the design of the mix, loading trucks with asphalt and ticketing to correct job, monitor plant equipment to ensure continuous flow of materials.
Duties:
• Perform routine inspections of all plant equipment to identify hazards and/or defective components of the plant.
• Assist in preventative maintenance to ensure all plant equipment is maintained and serviced as needed
• Troubleshoot, problem solve, and resolve production issues with supervisors and coworkers
• Responsible for housekeeping of control house and plant facility
• Maintaining customer relations
• Willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completions as needed
• Must demonstrate safety awareness, and willingness to comply with all company safety standards/policies
• Previous plant operations is preferred
• Maintenance (mechanical, electrical) experience preferred
• Experience operating skid steer, forklift, man lift, front-end loader, water truck
• Must be able to work extended hours based on customer or company demands
• Ability to work from heights
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral communication
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Possess basic computer knowledge
