Position Highlights
The Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC) Planning and Operations team handles campus services such as security, emergency preparedness, maintenance, custodial, motor pool, and utilities.
The Campus is a 30-acre, urban medical and bioscience campus with more than 1.7 million square-feet of biomedical-related research, academic, and clinical facilities with plans for more. It is the only site where you will find all 3 of Arizona's public universities in one location conducting and collaborating in research.

The Building Manager will provide leadership, direction, coordination and supervision of facilities staff and operations at the University in Phoenix. Will provide input, operational oversight, and organizational leadership while coordinating facilities maintenance skilled trades, trades helpers, and contracted providers along with internal and external management activity.
The Building Manager will communicate with department and university leadership if appropriate on projects, issues, and performance related to facilities maintenance activity. The position will supervise the staff as needed, coordinate training when required and ensure all certifications and licenses are kept in a current state. This position will assist others in the department as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Plans, directs and monitors daily operations of maintenance and operations staff. Will participate in budget planning. Ensure code compliance and regulatory requirements. This position will oversee the skilled and non-skilled trades works, all work order activity involving maintenance type work. This person will liaison between contractors and the facilities department.
• Oversight of the work order system with emphasis on high KPI performance. Coordinates purchase order processes for the maintenance staff. Oversight of inspection and preventative maintenance processes for electrical, plumbing, HVAC.
• Schedules maintenance projects to include the appropriate use of manpower resources. Coordinates service schedules and work plans for the PBC campus as well as for associated satellite locations within the Phoenix Metropolitan and Maricopa County areas.
• Manages materials and supplies uses within the maintenance department. Will review and approve expenditures, department billing, and cost forecasting.
• Monitors and communicates utility use and trends. Identifies and implements opportunities for utility use reduction.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy .
• Must be able to work evenings/weekends occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
• 7 years of maintenance management or equivalent experience.
• Possess an OSHA 10 certification.
