About the Role:
As Business Development Underwriter , your responsibilities will include managing an assigned underwriting territory to achieve profitable growth. This involves underwriting new business, handling renewals, endorsements, and other transactions. Your role will also entail identifying new business opportunities and effectively managing agency relationships.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Holds a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant insurance experience, or possesses an equivalent blend of education and experience.
• Proven track record in commercial lines property and casualty insurance.
• Extensive commercial lines underwriting experience; E&S experience is strongly preferred.
• Expertise in Excess & Surplus, General Liability, and Property underwriting.
• Prior experience collaborating with independent agents is advantageous.
• Proficient in essential computer programs within a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, and Email.
• Skilled in utilizing online underwriting tools in a paperless environment, such as SAGE, Silver Plume, and Reference Connect.
• Preferably, has completed advanced professional insurance coursework (e.g., CPCU, ASLI, AU) or other relevant insurance-related classes
