Come work for the Ursuline Sisters of Mount St. Joseph providing nursing assistant services for the retired Sisters living in their home. Opening : Director of Nursing--Monday-Friday 8hr. shift. Must be flexible, schedule could change. Principal Duties and Responsibilities : Provides health care to the sisters utilizing sound medical practices according to national and state guidelines. Serves as an advocate to ensure that medical information is provided to each sister when making personal healthcare choices. Assists in planning and developing the communication and coordination mechanisms which will further the delivery of healthcare services to the sisters and provide for their safety. Assists in planning and developing emergency/disaster response and coordination. Communicates with sister’s surrogates and family members as appropriate. Maintains confidentiality of sisters’ private healthcare information. Investigates and resolves sisters’ complaints and concerns as it relates to health care or healthcare staff issues. Serves as liaison with physicians, pharmacies and other appropriate healthcare professionals and facilities. Assists with sisters’ examinations and/or questions. Accepts on-call responsibilities as per on-call schedule Ensures healthcare activities and records are in adherence to various licensing and regulatory requirements related to Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Kentucky Medication Aide, and Certified Nurse Aide licensing. Maintains clinical skill and knowledge necessary to set standard and work in all areas of nursing. prepares and supervises sisters care conference meetings (care plans). ·Assigns, supervises, guides and instructs professional staff in providing high quality services including accurate documentation and participation in sister’s case conference meetings (care plans) based on educational preparedness and clinical competence. Ensures the maintenance of current and appropriate Medicare, insurance and health-care surrogate records. Prepares and maintains the departmental fiscal budget. Coordinates with Government Programs and Benefits Coordinator on the purchase of durable goods. Communicates to the Plant Administrator perceived needs for the healthcare area and grounds. Oversees incoming order forms for proper coding, quantities, and authorized approvals. Oversees the organization and destruction of medical records as needed. ·Oversees the organization of sisters’ rooms and moving of sisters as needed. Plans, organizes and oversees staff to provide sisters’ care. Evaluates level of care being provided to sisters to ensure quality standards are met. Oversees daily staffing requirements. Orients healthcare staff to their job responsibilities and ensures they are fully training before orientation period is complete. Provides leadership in healthcare problem solving as needed. Oversees healthcare staff work schedules and bi-weekly payroll time, which is completed by Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Prepares and delivers annual performance evaluations and 90-day performance evaluations. Evaluates, schedules, and facilitates in-service meetings/trainings with assistant from ADON as needed. Ensures that all staff members participate in planning, problem-solving, and providing coordination of services which includes, but is not limited to, Local Community Life, Pastoral Care, Activities, Food Services and Housekeeping. Administers discipline according to the Staff Handbook and established healthcare policies and practices, with approval of the Human Resources Department. Skills and Ability Required: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. Ability to grasp and lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to read, recall, write, and understand information. Ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, but must be a Registered Nurse (RN) from an accredited school of nursing. Three years of clinical experience. Previous healthcare management experience. Must maintain current Kentucky Nursing License in good standing. Must meet all local health regulations.
