Opportunity to make $55,000 to $85,000 a year and full benefits in an independent repair shop! We are a family and Christian ran business, operating in Owensboro, IN. Fast Lane has been in business for 10 years and has an amazing customer base that is loyal and great to work with. We took over Fast Lane last month and have already seen great improvements in the business. We also own Full Throttle Automotive in Evansville which was voted the Top Repair Facility in the nation for 2024 by AAA. We have took the same processes and started applying them to Fast Lane which if based around clear expectations, workflow, and great customer service. Summary: To start you need to love helping others and be passionate about providing quality customer services and experiences! As an automotive service advisor greet customers, listen to their description of the problems or service needed, determine the type of service required and prepare repair orders. If a vehicle requires additional repairs not covered in the original order, they estimate the additional cost and telephone the customer for permission to do the work. They also advise customers on other available services. Essential Duties: Checks on progress of repairs throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time; explains cost and time requirements in detail; gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed. Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work including authorization is noted. Ensures that vehicles are parked in assigned areas, making sure they are locked, and all keys are tagged and put away in the designated area. Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work-in-progress. Orders parts pertaining to each job. Have complete knowledge of inspection reports, estimates, work-in-progress, and completed invoices. Confers with customers about digital inspection results, recommends corrective procedures and prepares work for needed repairs. Prepares a repair order showing time, cost and labor estimates for service. Write a detailed description of the customer’s concern on the repair order to help the technician locate the problem. Obtains customer and vehicle information prior to if possible or upon arrival. Greets customers in a timely and friendly manner. Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service. Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications. Establishes a “promised time” and makes sure the time is met. Obtains customer’s signature on repair order; provides customer with a copy. Establishes customer’s method of payment. Obtains credit approval, if necessary. Replenishes assigned inventory. Maintains a professional appearance. Keeps work area clean. Learns and maintains current product and software knowledge on many software's, warranties, roadside assistance, tires, services and other products that are represented, as well as those of competitors. Establishes a trusting relationship based on integrity and fairness with customers and demonstrates a sincere concern for them. Willingly provides superior customer service levels that exceed customer expectations while staying within company policies and guidelines. Invoices customers using proper procedures for cash, charge, credit, employee, fleet and national accounts. Maintains accurate inventories for tires, parts and other product lines. Utilizes inspection checklist with each customer that uses a loan vehicle. Why come work for us? High School Diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of Service Advisor or automotive work experience minimally required. Must have a current and valid Driver’s License with a good driving record. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions. Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously. Must be comfortable with computers, we are all digital and use many different software’s daily. Our digital inspections and operating system is Tekmetric.
