Job Description
Position Summary:
Provide design and management of facility projects involving construction / renovation, plant systems, and production equipment installation. Support maintenance operations in reviewing issues or problems with plant systems or equipment. Lead or contribute on special teams which support and improve plant operations.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Determine appropriate design criteria such as applicable codes, department or company requirements
• Review design requirements with other department representatives
• Determine project resources (outside contractor or internal department /employee)
• Prepare floor plans and identify utility requirements (electrical, gases, fluids, wastes)
• Determine HVAC requirements (heating, cooling, exhaust, humidity, clean room conditions)
• Prepare cost estimates and capital authorization forms to obtain funding
• Obtain cost quotations from vendors and contractors and generate orders for labor and materials
• Oversee construction and installation work to ensure good quality and observance of safety policies
• Manage project costs to stay within budget
Qualifications
• BS in engineering or engineering technology with an emphasis on plant mechanical / electrical systems
• 5 – 10 years of engineering experience
• Experienced in using Revit, AutoCAD and MS Window’s based software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project)
• Knowledge of special piping systems and requirements used for: DI water, chemicals, flammable liquids and high purity gases.
• Experience in the design and operation of clean room environments
• Experience with environmental systems (scrubbers, waste handling equipment)
• Must have exceptional multi-tasking skills as related to design tasks, project alignment, and daily routine prioritizations.
• Must be capable of functioning in a highly stressful and demanding environment with regard to design and communications with colleagues, upper management, internal customers and external contacts.
• “Team player”—able to work well with colleagues, internal customers and external vendors
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Maintain drawings of plants and facility related items, keeping current records.
