Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com. We are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer for our Owensboro, KY or Houston, TX office. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsible and accountable for providing hands-on architectural guidance and oversight for Boardwalk’s applications, infrastructure, and security within hybrid cloud strategy at Boardwalk Pipelines and will be responsible for further development of cloud architectures with taking existing Boardwalk standards along with best practices to provide solution architectures for all IT applications and infrastructure. Job Responsibilities Deliver cloud solutions using AWS and other public cloud services and as a key member of IT Continuous Delivery Services team to ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services to cloud Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the technology community Work closely with developer teams to create an automated CI/CD pipeline Deliver end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring and infrastructure management in the cloud environment Partner with various functional teams across the business and IT departments to support strategic enterprise vision and design for cloud consumption Partner with engineering delivery teams to research, design and implement the appropriate technology needed to support the application portfolio Partnership with the application architecture, network, and security engineering team is critical to ensure that the infrastructure architectural principals support the requirements and needs to automate Ensure compliance of architectural and engineering policies, standards and procedures An educator to peer staff employees on DevOps processes and help drive increased adoption of these processes throughout the IT organization Research latest industry practices and technology trends to assist Lead with providing advice to clients and members of the IT organization Assist in conceptualization and development of solutions (hardware, software, processes) that support business requirements Collaborate with the appropriate parties, such as vendors, business users, or members of IT, in order to resolve problems or investigate opportunities as needed Participate in special projects and/or initiatives as needed Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure that project deliverables meet required specifications Assist in the development and maintenance of business continuity plans, architecture diagrams and procedures to support the continued operations during a business disruption Remain active in technology arenas to outline declining technologies which can create potential risks or vulnerabilities REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: 1+ years of hands-on experience in architecture and designing highly complex, distributed applications using AWS micro services Experience with Linux scripting, AWS CLI, Terraform, Ansible, JSON, GitHub, JFrog Artifactory, and CircleCI Ability to learn cloud native services and do the proof of concepts as part of the solutions 1+ years experience with delivery of cloud resources via automation and DevOps, CI/CD Developing templates or scripts to automate everyday infrastructure or operations functions Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Self motivated and directed Highly logical and technically skilled Keen attention to detail Ability to effectively establish/follow task prioritization and execute multiple assignments through a myriad of changing business processes, regulatory requirements, availability of team members, shifting priorities and requests for service Ability to absorb new ideas and learn concepts quickly Very strong customer service orientation Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills targeted to the appropriate audience Proven creative analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: Familiarity with the Energy industry Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives Broad knowledge of database technologies, programming languages and techniques Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Demonstrated ability in developing and interpreting technical documentation Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies Conceptual understanding of database design and administration, systems administration and networking REQUIRED EDUCATION: College or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems or related field of study, and/or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.
