AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time: All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority. Review invoice uploads from division locations for proper documentation, accuracy, and compliance with AMPI policies. Verify accounting period, accounting code, and accrue proper state sales taxes where applicable. Resolve discrepancies or questions with plant division accounting staff. Process payment files in JDE ERP system for payment. Process all divisions’ utility payments and communicate copies of billings to the division offices. Prepare and upload invoices for corporate location. Manages the central vendor and customer lists for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable in the JDE system. Sets up new vendors and customers and revise information when needed. Periodically share updated vendor list with division offices Mailing checks and supporting documentation on a weekly basis to vendors receiving paper checks. For vendors receiving paper checks, mail checks and supporting documentation weekly. Review credit card transactions for documentation and general ledger coding, contacting card holders for missing information. Assist division accounting offices and purchasing department with vendor invoice and payment questions. Complete IRS requests and filings for Accounts Payable including resolving items reported on “B” notices, preparation and mailing of 1099 forms. Send W-9 requests to vendors and maintain Accounts Payable vendor information in JDE. Collect mileage data for company owned or leased vehicles and compile a report for Human Resources. Performs a variety of administrative duties such as scanning and storing invoice copies. Backup Accounts Payable Manager for check processing, state sales and use tax accounting and reporting. Prepare summary and balance sales customers’ marketing accruals and record to general ledger. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Associate degree in accounting or related field or a combination of education preferred. One to three years relevant work experience preferred.
