Assistant Professor of Chemistry Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry with a starting date of August 15, 2024. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to teach a variety of courses and a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Primary teaching responsibilities include non-majors and introductory chemistry courses with opportunities to teach upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Candidates specializing in Physical Chemistry or Biochemistry are preferred but all excellent candidates will be given full consideration. Major Responsibilities Teach a variety of lecture and laboratory courses to Chemistry, Biology, Exercise Science, and Zoology majors including Concepts of Chemistry, General Chemistry, and appropriate courses at the upper level based on the applicant’s expertise. Encourage and oversee relevant faculty-student research. Provide Academic Advising to students. Contribute professional expertise to the college and larger external community. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. or ABD in Chemistry. All specialties will be considered. A strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduate students and a passion for providing an exceptional classroom experience for Wesleyan students. Enthusiastic and dynamic personality. Effective communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively. A desire to contribute professional expertise to the college and larger external community.
