Miracle Hill Ministries is South Carolina's largest and most comprehensive provider of homeless services. Summary / Purpose of Position: Supervise the operation of Food Warehouse distribution by providing food and supplies to the shelters of Miracle Hill Ministries, foster families, and outside agencies. Coordinate with Food Bank partners and Miracle Hill Ministries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Accurately maintain Excel Spreadsheet of all inbound and outbound food as it arrives and departs Ensure food donated to MHM is within the date guidelines and that all volunteers and staff are trained and complying with labeling food safety guidelines Supervise and properly record foster families and outside agencies shopping Organize and maintain warehouse; to be sure that we remain in compliance with DHEC, SC Department of Agriculture, and Feeding America's guidelines, as well as many other agencies that may come for an inspection. Rotate stock and keep in date perishables from canned products to produce using FIFO method (First in, First out). Schedule all logistics for both routine food procurement and donations from different than normal sources. Daily oversight of food recalls-information passed on to facilities as needed. Organize all food drives-locations, barrels delivered, timeframes, and once the drive has been completed, gathering the donated items and barrels and return them to the warehouse. Develop new relationships with outside partners to acquire food and other items, as well as maintaining long standing relationships with current agencies, ex. Harvest Hope, Gifts In Kind Center, Loaves and Fishes, etc. Donor relations-phone calls, thank you cards, etc. Responsible for all monthly reports, meal count reports to both internal administration as well as Harvest Hope and Loaves and Fishes monthly, pest control logs, daily temperature control logs, 2 vehicle inspection monthly reports, as well as daily usage logs. Maintain the integrity of the building and equipment and facilitate maintenance of said equipment. Facilitate/assist the shelters in acquiring the proper nutrition for their particular needs, as well as listen to each facility that comes in, and inquire as to what their particular needs may be, and strive to meet those needs in regard to not only food, but cleaning supplies, hygiene products, etc. Be compassionate and courteous when someone either calls on the phone, or comes to the door asking for assistance, and give these people the necessary information to direct them to assistance. Have a willingness to share the good news of Jesus Christ, give a personal testimony and pray with/for those served by the ministry. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities under the direction of the Warehouse Manager: Mission guests and interns Volunteers planning, assigning, and directing work Addressing complaints and resolving problems in conjunction with the manager. Qualifications: Have a working knowledge of and experience with Excel spreadsheets. Education or equivalent experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Years of experience: One to two years of experience preferred but not mandatory. Specialized training required: Operation of ministry vehicles and equipment (including trucks and forklift). License/Certification: Valid SC driver's license with a clean record. Other: Forklift license/experience. Other abilities: Be able to meet the physical demands including talking and hearing; standing, walking, and sitting; using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; tasting and smelling; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.; have vision abilities of close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
