Ensure the respect and integrity of the company’s reputation in the marketplace. 2. Must have a high level of cultural intuition and focus on creating a friendly and safe working environment while holding members of a team accountable. 3. High level of understanding a P&L while driving metrics which increase profitability and growth within a truckload model. 4. Collaborate with employees and develop a complete understanding of the current business model. 5. Dig in and roll up sleeve’s mentality for learning every aspect of the company operation. 6. Support, communicate and promote the Organization’s Mission Statement and Core Values. 7. Provide strategic and tactical direction to manage the day-to-day operations including but not limited to dispatch operations, maintenance, safety, recruiting, and customer service as well as any other duties as necessary to manage the business. 8. Provide input and support all short- and long-term budgeting and capital investment planning activities for the business. 9. Develop and communicate measurable objectives for the respective departments within the business. 10. Understanding of all applicable local, state, and federal laws and requirements held by the DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and the EPA as it relates to carrier practices and compliance. 11. Responsible for determining appropriate staffing and compensation levels. 12. Responsible for talent management, including individual and team development through aligned goals, consistent standards, and regular coaching. 13. Evaluate and advise on the impact of new programs and/or strategies implemented or rolled out. 14. Provide employee mentorship, technical advice, and knowledge to others within the company. 15. Review contractual agreements and collaborate with vendors and customers to ensure contract compliance. 16. Establish trust and credibility by maintaining high levels of integrity and communication throughout the company; lead through effective listening and problem solving. 17. Initiate, lead, and participate in cross-functional projects/teams to support the company goals. 18. Implement and guide new technology integrations as needed to keep the business current with new informational software applications. Qualifications: 1. Education and Experience o 2 yr. Associate acceptable, 4 yr. bachelor’s degree preferred. Will consider relevant industry experience in leu of. o Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation leadership. o High level of motivation, ability to efficiently work with little supervision, effective multi-tasking and prioritizing skills, and a willingness to lead other team members. 2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities o Experience in truckload and Less-than-Truckload operations, employee development and resource planning. o Prior operational background in dispatch operations a plus, specifically Twin Cities desired. o Ability to utilize Office 365 and various company required software tools. Experience with McLeod TMS software a plus. o Excellent communication skills to receive and convey information effectively. Looking for meaningful work?
