Position Summary: The Director of Finance will ensure the stability of Phoenix Heart’s finances. Assess financial markets and identify solutions to any issues that may arise. Manage the Finance Department and prepare reports for management on the company’s financial status to make important decisions about future investments or budgets accordingly. Responsible for the performance of the Finance Department which includes accounts receivable/billing, accounts payable, purchasing, medical records, credentialing, coding and pre-authorizations. As of October 1, 2021, we require all employees to be fully Covid-19 vaccinated upon first day of work. Medical and religious accommodation requests will be considered and can be requested through Human Resources Duties: Maintains full integrity of all revenues, ensuring organization policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, are followed. Oversees capital assets projects, ensuring organization’s goals are being met. Compiles fiscal estimates and prepares periodic fiscal reports. Ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and testing. Develops procedures that ensure collections are complete and current. Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports. Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets. Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods. Prepares corporate financial statements in a timely fashion. Creates and maintains a series of financial controls and procedures for the accounting department. Conducts periodic audits of budget items, including comparing per diems to actual expenses and other budget-to-actual comparisons. Provides relevant financial information to executive management team. Oversees and takes responsibility for all financial procedures and records. Maintains corporate checking accounts and invoices. Responsible for the various ledgers including cash disbursements, cash receipts, accounts payable, month-end payroll summary, accounts receivable summary, and journal entries to adjust the general ledger. Generates monthly reports including accounts payable reconciliation, accounts receivable reconciliation, cash flow report, and balance sheet audits. Performs other related duties as requested. Required knowledge, education, and competencies: · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. · CPA designation/MBA highly preferred. · Five years of management experience in finance with a similar organization or with a major CPA firm. Healthcare experience highly preferred. · Strong analytical skills Competencies to include: · Exceptional integrity · Excellent managerial skills and ability to evaluate the work of others. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Working knowledge of organization’s applicable financial practices and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations. · Proficient with accounting software and standard office and accounting equipment.
