What you will do Job Title: Digital Product Owner and IIOT/AI Engineer Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Digital Product Owner with a unique technical background in software engineering, IIOT and AI. As Volvo aims go beyond Industry 4.0 and integrate AI systems in the production line to improve our operational efficiency, your primary role will be to work directly with various business teams in the New River Valley truck factory, identify pain points and areas for optimization, design IIOT and AI based solutions and lead a team of developers to successfully deliver reliable and secure systems that meet Volvo guidelines and policies. Expert level knowledge of Thingworx/Kepware IIOT platform and Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing and AI solutions are required. This is a fully on-site position located in Dublin, Virginia. Responsibilities: Define the vision and strategy for digital products based on business needs and emerging technologies. Develop and maintain IIOT, Digital Twin, and AI solutions in the factory based on PTC Thingworx and Kepware systems and Microsoft Azure technologies. Train new AI/ML models, improve existing models, and deploy them in different environments such as the cloud, edge, or local compute resources. Configure and integrate devices, sensors and vision cameras as needed for various IIOT and AI solutions to acquire data for AI inference and data analytics. Mentor and train developers and interns assigned to your team. Lead design review meetings and ensure that proposed solutions meet Volvo architectural and security standards. Develop and maintain a product roadmap outlining the prioritization of features and enhancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria. Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and development teams, providing clarity on product requirements and priorities. Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other agile ceremonies to ensure efficient execution of product development. Conduct regular reviews and testing of product features to ensure alignment with quality standards and user expectations. Analyze user data and feedback to continuously improve product features and performance. Stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation. Communicate product updates and progress to stakeholders, including executives and business partners. Who are you? Mandatory Skills Practical experience in Thingworx using JavaScript programming language and CSS stylings. Practical experience in OPC-UA standard and PLC/device communications with PTC Kepware Knowledge of Digital Twin principals and technologies. Practical experience in Azure Cloud Services and ML Studio. Practical experience in AI, including neural networks and computer vision used for object detection and classification, and predictive analytics utilizing historical and real time data. Expert level Python programming skills for AI/ML and other data science/engineering use cases. Experience in Power BI (Desktop and Web versions) for data analytics and visualizations. Strong skills in object-oriented design practices and functional programming Expert knowledge in creating and consuming secure HTTP REST API’s from various programming languages such as Python and JavaScript Experience in SQL Server, SQL queries, SharePoint, and other database and data storage technologies. Experience working in VS Code, and Azure DevOps / Git Repo. Basic experience in event driven design (IBM WMQ, MQTT, etc.) with ability learn and apply the practice in new or ongoing projects. Knowledge of vision cameras and with various types of configuration options and connectivity standards such as (USB, POE, GigE, etc.) Experience in development, maintenance and support of projects and solutions. Experience in provisioning cloud resources such as Azure App Services, Function Apps Cloud Storage and SQL Server databases. You can navigate with ease in a multi-cultural environment and actively cooperate with various stakeholders. Good experience in Agile, SCRUM. Complete proficiency in English is a requirement. Understanding of Domain Driven Design Experience in various forms of software, hardware, and enterprise modeling and the ability to explain the models to both technical and non-technical people. Experience working in a blend of on-prem and cloud environments and the interaction between the two. Good to have Skills Experience in cloud native paradigm and micro-services/containerization. OOP programming languages such as .NET, Java and C++. Experience in using Visual Studio and TFS. Experience in Unit Testing. Experience in web development using technologies such as HTML, ReactJS or similar Experience in data analytics technologies such as Apache Spark. Skillful in writing Unit and Integration Tests.
