The Recorder’s Office Administrative Support Specialist provides support in a variety of tasks related to real estate property, accounting, and document preservation in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, under daily timelines and constraints. This position also reviews and processes passport applications. Responsibilities also include interacting in a courteous, respectful, and proficient manner while providing customer service to the public, professional businesses, and government agencies.

Examines and analyzes legal documents related to real estate property to determine accuracy, completeness, and compliance with statutory recording requirements. Records and processes documents under procedural timeline constraints for compliance with statutory timelines. Calculates recording fees, state deed tax, mortgage registration tax, and department service fees. Reviews and interprets legal land descriptions of Abstract and Torrens real estate property; reviews and records plats of new subdivisions.

Minimum qualifications & Requirements In order to be considered for this position we require an Associate’s degree and 2 years of administrative support experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
