Senior Manager, HR Consultant

Our HR Consulting team manages dynamic cases from business leaders related to HR practices and policies. Team members use a consultative approach to partner on topics such as compensation, benefits, staffing, talent management, performance management and policy interpretation.
Schwab HR Consultants advise people leaders on team dynamics and organizational changes providing thought partnership with team building/synergy approaches and organizational planning while identifying key trends and recommending actions. Consultants partner with and provide support to HR partners to ensure successful execution of business programs and initiatives. The HR Consultant Team also drives HR functional excellence and ongoing process improvement.
In this role you will continue to emphasize effective listening and prioritization as you hone your mastery of your consultative approach. You will leverage critical thinking as you analyze information, pinpoint trends, and propose clear solutions/recommendations with our future in mind. The HR Consulting team elevates leader capabilities, creates a positive employee experience, cultivates an engaged, inclusive, and productive work environment, which enables superior company performance.

What you have
Required Qualifications
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:
• Bachelors Degree required.
• 7+ years previous HR experience or equivalent (e.g., HR Generalist, Leadership & Development, Compensation, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
• HR Generalist and consultative HR experience preferred.
• Partnering effectively with internal teams including HR business partners, Legal, and HR Centers of Expertise.
• Providing coaching, feedback, and perspective to guide others’ thinking and help them fully develop their own capabilities.
• Applying strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, diagnosing root-cause of issues, identifying trends, and providing clear recommendations/solutions.
• Executing on people initiatives, providing effective internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.
• Skilled at developing strong partnerships to collaborate and influence colleagues in a matrixed organization and across a multitude of HR functions.
• Experience using HR analytics and metrics to help inform business decisions. Ability to summarize and highlight key insights and trends.
• Demonstrating the ability to understand the HRBP and HR COE responsibilities and deliverables, helping execute against those deliverables, and recommending new approaches as needed.
• Offering creative and effective solutions to near term issues and identifying opportunities for longer term strategic outcomes.
• Exercising sound judgment and autonomy to determine methods, techniques, and approaches to achieve effective results in partnership with HRBPs.
• Partnering and driving effective collaboration with HR centers of expertise and key business partners e.g., finance, oversight, real estate, etc.
• Consistently demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) abilities; skilled in communicating with diverse clients, both 1:1 and in large groups.
• Strong execution with annual HR programs, including but not limited to, performance management, talent review, key contributor, pay planning, and engagement.
• Working with HRBPs to ensure needed resources are in place to support HR programs, unique business and organizational development needs identified by the HRBP (e.g., org/job evaluations, compensation reviews, etc.)
• Support for learning delivery and/or providing facilitation delivery for key HR programs e.g., talent and performance management, career development, diversity initiatives, compensation, training & development, etc.
• Conferring with people leaders at all levels on team dynamics and organizational change impacts. Providing thought partnership on team building approaches and team effectiveness, advising leaders with key insights and recommended actions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
• Ability to prioritize initiatives, especially when under tight timelines or competing deadlines, while remaining proactive and flexible where needed.
• Strong growth mindset positively accepts performance feedback to learn and grow.
• Demonstrated ability to be creative in developing solutions in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to synthesize information, present in a clear and concise format, and directionally influence outcomes.
