Job Details Technical Software Proposal and Process Writer
HyperGen Inc., a world-class Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Business Software Development firm has a need for a Technical/Proposal Writer
The Technical Writer is responsible for generating innovative ideas for content while working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The position researches relevant services, instructions, technology or concepts and business processes to be documented and easily understood by a broad audience.
Position location: Roanoke, VA
We provide for a Hybrid work environment with 2-3 work from home days.
Responsibilities
• Craft proposals and bid responses that effectively convey a company’s strengths and qualifications to potential clients.
• Ensure that proposals are accurate, compliant, and competitive by working collaboratively with sales and business development teams
• Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
• Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
• Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
• Understand process flows and develop/update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation.
• Develop client user guides for various customer software applications
• Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter and be capable of managing multiple proposals at the same time while meeting strict deadlines.
Must Have:
• 2-5 years of experience as a Writer, particularly creating content for Proposals and technical business software solutions
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex ideas. Furthermore, they must have strong management skills and be capable of managing multiple proposals at the same time while meeting strict deadlines
• Fluency in office technologies such as Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Project Planning, VISIO etc.
• Ability to develop visual content of business process flows, swim lanes etc.
• Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, mass written communications and/or 3-5 years in software technical writing or a related field.

Annual Salary: Based on Experience + Bonus Potential
