Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
The Information Systems Coordinator position involves an advanced level of technical expertise, website design and analysis, training delivery, and customer service under general direction with a bachelor's degree, sufficient knowledge, experience, and skills as well as appropriate professional and/or technical certifications within specific programmatic area(s). This position currently bridges the gap between the responsibilities of an Information System Specialist and the Information Systems Director. The ISS Coordinator maintains a high degree of professionalism and integrity in representing the University and model a culture of safety. The ISS Coordinator is a primary liaison and point-of-contact within specific programmatic areas that utilize ESD systems, including areas such as research and teaching labs. The ISS Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive website analysis, system testing, and support of new deployments to assist the University in maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace and academic environment while also seeking assistance from superiors as needed. The work of an ISS Coordinator is administrative and supervisory in nature and involves activities such as: advising faculty, staff, students and researchers regarding safety and compliance systems and procedures; providing ongoing training both online and classroom style; and creating safety and compliance documentation and communications. The incumbent is also charged with overseeing the deployment of new technologies (e.g. computer equipment and peripherals; particularly bar code printing and scanning equipment); management of online communications (e.g. web updates, creation and execution of email campaigns for the dissemination of information about upgrades and other issues pertinent to clients); measurement, analysis, and reporting of initiatives and successes; coordinating with other units, lab personnel and external vendors; training both ESD and UGA staff on processes and the use of newly deployed technologies. Work is performed with much less supervision that than provided to an ISS Specialist. Other responsibilities include actively promoting and managing specific aspects of safety and compliance systems and providing assistance to faculty, staff, and students. The ESD Information Systems Coordinator also facilitates connections and sharing between other employees, functions as a mentor of other IT professionals in the unit and UGA , emphasizes quality and influences direction for unit and team members, frequently plans and leads large projects, and may share team leadership responsibilities that may include supervision, performance management, budget management and/or project management.
Standard 8AM to 5PM work schedule. Some after-hours availability as needed. This is to ensure that client needs are met and urgent situations are addressed which may occur after typical work hours or on weekends and holidays.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
• Hands-on experience overseeing web design and web based projects following best web-development practices, processes, and methodologies.
• Experience guiding diverse teams through the implementation of online technology projects and have previously demonstrated abilities to develop technical product roadmaps.
• Skilled in using MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
• Outstanding human relations and leadership skill and the ability to function in a team environment.

• Experience with the Chematix chemical management software suite or similar electronic chemical management solution software.

Support Chemical Inventory Application:
• Provide excellence and enthusiasm in client support using a variety of platforms. Demonstrate an eagerness to accept challenges related to the user experience in an effort improve functionality and assist with upgrades and modifications that bring value to the system and its users.
• Coordinate the annual chemical inventory reconciliation project. This includes collaborating with campus partners to formulate a reasonable plan to ensure that the electronic inventory database matches (goal of 80% or better) with the physical inventory found in labs on both the Athens and extended campuses.
• Work with staff and other users to identify and resolve problems with currently deployed web modules, and partner with external vendor(s) to resolve issues as needed.
• Provide scheduled and ad-hoc software training sessions for campus lab users (including travel to assist extended campus users) in collaboration with the Information Systems Specialist.
• Hire, train, and schedule student assistants regarding safety, assisting with chemical inventory requests, and working in a professional office environment.
• Collaborate with central receiving to assist with safety and improvements to efficiency in the chemical receiving process.

Provide internal department IT Support:
• Assist with the IT responsibilities for onboarding and offboarding both part-time and full-time employees to ensure a smooth transition.
• Update and maintain ESD Website, digital signage and other digital media.
• Administer Sharepoint and Onedrive Applications to ensure business continuity and endpoint backups. Use these tools to audit internal and external sharing permissions and data integrity.
• Provide support for Microsoft products including Office 365, Teams Groups & Distribution Groups.
• Maintain Users, Computers, and GPOs in ESD's OU within UGA's Active Directory.
• Assist with the procurement, deployment, and decommissioning of IT equipment for ESD employees
• Respond to basic desktop support requests from division users.

Systems Maintenance:
• Serve as a Department Network Liaison ( DNL ) which collaborates with central IT office on networking and system-wide upgrades.
• Respond to requests for new data streams and monitor and maintain existing ones. Assist with any new integrations as requested.
• Maintain ESD's IP Subnet & DNS in Blue Cat IP Address Management
• Provide upkeep for ESD's virtual infrastructure including Linux security patching and monitoring.
• Keep ESD internal applications and related build/test/deploy environments up to date including vehicle check out systems, IT inventory, digital signage, and password managers.
• Monitor logs, news, and relevant topics pertaining to these applications.
