This role will serve as the campus environmental subject matter expert performing analytical and operational work in support of an environmental protection program while ensuring regulatory compliance with applicable local, state, and federal environmental laws. A culture focused on ensuring the health, safety and well-being of its employees Support and mentorship from team members who are authentic, good-natured and highly skilled Competitive wages, incentive pay and a comprehensive package of benefits Responsibilities: Collects data for air quality permits and hazardous waste permits Conduct frequent inspections and audits at each plant location to assess regulatory and environmental management compliance, control significant environmental risks, and ensure the adequacy of environmental management systems Develop material to engage and educate operations on environmental and provide training on an individual and group basis Prepare and submit environmental permit applications, modifications, and renewals. Prepare and maintain plans (SPCC, SWPPP, fugitive dust, etc.) Track and complete reporting requirements (discharges, storm water, emissions, TRI, etc.) and manage recordkeeping requirements Analyze a wide array of environmental requirements including permits, plans and regulatory requirements and determine applicability to our operations Aid as an air permitting SME in compliance audits and resolving issues concerning environmental compliance Engage and manage consultants on air permitting projects as needed. Ensures compliance with certain federal and state environmental and hazardous materials transportation regulations Interfaces with operations departments to communicate and define their role in compliance efforts Interfaces with regulatory agencies to ensure the understanding of, and compliance with, all applicable environmental regulations and requirements Develop and oversee campus-wide environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, working hands-on to implement programs across the campus Manages, trains, and develops subordinates Qualifications: B.S. in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related technical field required Minimum of 5 years Environmental or Sustainability experience Demonstrated success implementing and overseeing environmental and sustainability programs and systems across multiple locations Understanding of local and federal environmental agency requirements including RCRA, and NPDES compliance and reporting CHMM and/or CEP certifications a plus Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to conduct training sessions and give presentations to small and/or large groups of people The employing subsidiaries of Schwan's Company are Equal Employment Opportunity Employers.
