Job Summary: Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day Front Office operational activities required to ensure a safe and efficient patient care environment. Facilitate our new patient enrollment process. Orchestrate our Specialty Referral process in collaboration with the Lead Medical Assistant and Patient Representative. Encourage and improve an environment that supports Mercy’s mission and core values.
Hours: 40 hours weekly
Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
Education: Preferred degree, coursework, or related work experience in areas such as nonprofit administration/management, social work, or resource management are typically the most helpful in developing the leadership and conflict resolution skills required for this position.

·       Organization and time management skills, attention to detail
·       Ability to work independently with little supervision
·       Comfort navigating a computer and ability to learn new programs
·       Experience with eClinicalWorks or similar EHR
·       Spanish speaking is a plus
Responsibilities:
·       Open front office daily
·       Explain and clarify the eligibility protocol to patients as needed
·       Accept/Schedule/ Document new patients and follow-up appointments
·       Communicate with medical personnel and other Whole Person Care (WPC) staff members to ensure that each new patient’s needs are properly addressed (i.e., primary medical concerns, behavioral health needs, etc.)
·       Support and supervise front desk volunteers and eligibility volunteers and engage with patients
· Enforce patient procedures (e.g.: No Show Suspension/Fees)
·       Review and record financial documents for Proof of Insurance, have patients sign ROIs
·       Print any recent ED visit summaries &/or labs/tests from Piedmont Athens Regional and St. Mary’s and scan them into the patient’s chart before a new patient appointment with a provider
·       Notify providers or WPC of any pertinent information or concerns about patients
·       Schedule specialty referrals as directed by the Lead MA and Patient Representative
·       Actively participate in succession planning activities to meet the needs of Mercy Health Center
·       Other duties as assigned
