CHESS & COMMUNITY PART-TIME PROGRAM COORDINATOR Job Description - Chess and Community is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Program Coordinator to join our team. As the Program Coordinator, you will lead the organization’s programs and activities. Your primary goal will be to ensure that our programs thrive for our students. This role is supervisory in nature. As this is a new position, the Program Coordinator will have the opportunity to contribute to program direction and growth. This opportunity is currently contract part-time but has the potential to become a full-time position. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Program Coordinator will focus on the following areas: 70% - Program Management Assure programs are running efficiently Coordinate communication between Chess and Community and parent liaison and parents Attend Recruiting events for new members into our organization Attend weekly programs. Work with the program evaluator to administer pre-post surveys to measure program effectiveness. Collect, review for accuracy and sign-off on timesheets from Peer coaches and program coaches. Manage assigned interns, coaches, and other paid contractors/ facilitators. Coordinate and delegate tasks to program staff, volunteers, or team members, providing guidance and support as necessary. Assure safety precautions and protocols are in place for participating students. Purchase equipment and supplies for Member and Community Programs. Collaborate with stakeholders to create program budgets and allocate resources efficiently. Maintain Member program budgets in collaboration with the Bookkeeper and Executive Director Coordinate program-specific tournaments Schedule program coaches according to program need Complete monthly reports as required by our funding partners Sign-off on coach timesheets 20% - Planning Assist with recruitment of program coaches Coordinate the bi-annual coach training for new and returning coaches Assist in budget development of the fiscal year. Help to market our membership program to the community. Tabling at community events for outreach. 10% Creating Assist in creating the annual report for the organization. Create flyers for programs to be distributed Assist the Executive Director in creating the monthly calendar of events. QUALIFICATION : Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Human Development, Education or related field + 2 years of experience or combination of education and experience Proven experience in program management, preferably in a nonprofit setting. Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs. Experience in staff supervision, mentorship, and team leadership. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and navigate challenges in a dynamic nonprofit environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite and other relevant software programs for data management and reporting. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and proactive attitude. Organized and great attention to detail. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Human Development, Education or related field. Experience in strategic planning, including setting short-term and long-term goals and objectives. Basic understanding of fundraising principles and grant writing experience.
