Maintenance Superintendent Location - Owensboro, KY Summary: The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for providing oversight of the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities of the business. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager this position will act as the primary interface for Operations and the maintenance personnel by approving, prioritizing, and scheduling work notifications that are developed by the maintenance planner to ensure the equipment and facilities are fully operational. This position will collaborate with other management staff to assist the Maintenance Manager in meeting the organizational goals and departmental KPI's. The Maintenance Superintendent will oversee major equipment overhauls as well as coordinating preventative and predictive maintenance programs while collecting data and reports on all equipment to understand root causes of downtime and recommend changes to improve operational uptime. Responsibilities: Acts as a champion of the maintenance execution work process in support of the business goals and safe, quality, and reliable maintenance services. Responsible for implementation and utilization of disciplined maintenance execution practices and standards. Assists in the development of the maintenance budgets, and in controlling spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments. Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment. Provides recommendations for purchases of new equipment. Directs the activities of the department to fabricate or modify machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products. Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities. Monitors work practices, employee behavior and job performance to increase productivity, reduce costs and improve employee safety. Qualifications: Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a minimum of three (3) years related experience and/or training. Minimum of 5 years' experience in charge of maintenance activities within a manufacturing environment, meat processing preferred Other combinations of education and experience may be considered in lieu of outlined educational requirement. Proven success completing projects, assignments, tasks, or goals; setting high standards of performance for self and others. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
