Job Summary:
The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) seeks an individual who can balance knowledge with a drive to deliver results as our new Wellness Program Administrator. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Training and Personnel, the Wellness Program Administrator (WPA) will play an integral role in promoting the overall health and well-being of the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) employees. Using their passion for wellness, the WPA will design, develop, and implement health and wellness programs across our diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator who can build wellness coaching relationships with employees, provide support, encouragement, and education, and create individualized health programs for employees.
The Wellness Program Administrator will oversee and manage the Occupational Health Unit, conducting assessments and evaluations to measure wellness programs' effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. This role will guide and support correctional staff on health wellness-related issues, including injury prevention, illness management, and stress reduction techniques. Additionally, the WPA will liaise with external healthcare providers, vendors, and community resources to enhance access to wellness services and resources for correctional staff.
Job Duties:

Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive wellness programs and initiatives tailored to correctional staff's unique needs and challenges.
- Analyze various data to track program successes and target wellness program offerings.
- Recommend strategic wellness program goals and objectives and ensure success through well-defined, communicated, and evaluated measurement criteria.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR, Safety, and Management within the Department of Corrections, to align wellness initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Occupational Health Unit, including staff supervision, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of the the Critical Incident Response Team and Employee Support Unit
- Develop and deliver training programs and workshops for correctional staff on stress management, nutrition, and resilience-building topics.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accountability for the wellness program budget by monitoring financial reports, explaining variances, and forecasting expenses to the Assistant Director of Training and Personnel.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:

Selective Preference(s):
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in mental health and wellness, clinical medical or directly related field
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, or related field.
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing or Certified Wellness Program Manager is preferred.
Master's degree preferred.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
If this position requires driving or using a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid, class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

Retirement:
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
