A role in Corporate Compliance and Ethics means providing support and managing key compliance areas for Target including stores, distribution centers and at headquarters.
As a Lead Data Consultant-Third Party Risk Management & Compliance , your responsibilities will be exploring data, technologies, and the application of mathematical techniques to derive business insights, enable risk-based decision making, and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance controls.  You will spend your time determining the best approach to gather, model, manipulate, analyze and present data. You will be the end-user product expert for the Third-Party eGRC application and will work with the agile product team to optimize the functionality of the system. You will be responsible for the maintenance and quality of data housed in the eGRC system and other associated systems. You will use your knowledge of Target’s data sources to perform analysis and provide insights to risk and compliance program owners. You will partner with risk and compliance program owners to develop automation solutions to drive productivity. Additionally, you will support the team through exploration of data, technologies, and the application of mathematical techniques that enable actionable business insights including the development of metrics, reports, and statistics. Along the way you will be applying best practices for data wrangling, analysis, and visualization by sharing solutions with others (clients, peers, etc.) while upskilling on new and emerging technologies with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Leverage advanced proficiency and subject matter expertise in numerical analysis, data governance, data science, and product development.
• Analyze large amounts of disparate enterprise data and define key metrics to evaluate the performance of the Third-party risk and compliance functions.
• Lead projects within the department to define requirements for the eGRC system, champion system enhancements, develop reporting solutions, implement controls monitoring, and automate manual processes.
• Develop end to end scalable, sustainable, and automated solutions to solve business problems.
• Interpret results and provide insights to the leadership team around key decisions.
• Define future capability needs for product and technology teams to execute new strategies.
• Demonstrate ability to be self-directed, solve complex problems autonomously, and demonstrate independent judgement and decision making.
• Work across Target’s product model including stakeholders across Legal Affairs, Merchandising, Finance, Procurement, and Technology to enable new capabilities to be developed.
• Provide leadership and coaching on analytical techniques, automation, and storytelling with data.

About You:
• BS/BA or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of work experience in data analysis or master’s level education in business analytics, data science, etc.
• Utilize tools (Python, R, SQL, JAVA) to build insights and solutions off varying data storage platforms (Hadoop, Postges, Oracle, etc.).
• Experience developing metrics, reports, visualizations and/or statistics while documenting code and adhering to data management principles.
• Advanced proficiency in at least 1 visualization tool (i.e. Tableau, Domo, Power BI) with willingness and ability to learn additional visualizations tools.
• Understanding of risk management practices and decision making.
• Understanding of data structures and technology product agile methodology.
• Subject matter expertise using many key Target systems, including SAP, Ariba, Archer, Vendor Management and Maintenance (VMM), Supplier Manager, IMN/Spark, MVS, Salesforce, Marketplace Portal, Cygnus Studio, Domo, Greenfield, Jira, Confluence, Data Miner, Data Portal, Guardian, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MS in Applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Data Science, Software Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field.
• Experience in the Hadoop ecosystem, analytical tools, and automation tools.
• Strong analytical skills including model development, hypothesis design and testing, and the ability to teach analytical concepts to others.
• Familiarity with external risk systems including RapidRatings, LexisNexis Diligence, Bridger, Dun & Bradstreet, Thomson Reuters CLEAR, BSI Connect, etc.
• Experience building data governance frameworks.
