POSITION SUMMARY Position Summary: Under supervision by higher-level staff, learn to perform various technical and analytical duties in either Application Services or Technical Services. The IT Associate classification is generally expected to last no more than one year. It is designed to prepare the candidate to become an entry-level application support specialist for one of two application services teams (Non-Meditech Systems or Meditech Systems) or an entry-level technical support specialist for one of two technical services teams (Network Engineering or Network Administration). The IT Associate will receive training and perform routine tasks relative to the assignment they are training. Work is performed within established policy and procedure guidelines and under close supervision. As skills increase, less supervision is received. After demonstrating the ability to learn and perform the duties and tasks at one level, the IT Associate will move to successively higher levels until the IT Associate is ready for promotion to an entry-level application support specialist or an entry-level technical support specialist position. Promotion to the entry-level support specialist position requires that the IT Associate perform substantially the full range of duties for the support specialist role and meet the qualification standards for the position.
