Position Title: Match Support Specialist Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt Full-Time , 32 hour work week, Occasional Weekend/Evenings needed Reports To: CEO About us Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina's mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Role Purpose: Essential to the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) brand, Match Support Specialist are responsible for promoting positive youth development and improving children’s lives by establishing and supporting the positive mentoring relationships between volunteer mentors and children facing adversity. This includes working with a blended caseload of elementary/middle school students, high school students, families, program volunteers and site based staff to provide professional training, screening for child safety, and creating a strong sense of affiliation with BBBS of Salina. This position is responsible for providing high-level customer service in response to all inquiries; providing ongoing match support to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, and adhering to Big Brother Big Sisters one-to-one standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure high-level child safety and consistently apply risk management knowledge by following Agency Policies and Procedures throughout all aspects of job function Diligently identify potential child safety concerns for volunteers, children and families throughout the enrollment (site based) and matching process and follow appropriate notification procedures as necessary Actively participate in recruitment and interview process of volunteer Bigs for site based programs Deliver consistent, effective and excellent customer service in a respectful manner Enter all pertinent data into database, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information Facilitate match meetings (site based) in accordance with volunteer’s and child’s schedules Provide professional and timely match support through methods listed in the agency program manual such as: telephone, email, social media messaging and in person contact Ascertain that the elements of child safety, match relationship development, match retention, positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction are fulfilled and that potential problems and barriers are identified and addressed as early as possible Support each match participant to ensure positive youth development experience for youth and successful and satisfying experience for volunteer Establish, monitor and meet goals for match length and customer satisfaction. Utilize Strength of Relationship (SOR) tool, Youth Outcome Development Plan (YODP) and YOS to assess and measure match impact and outcomes for children served Develop and maintain a strong relationship with all school districts in Saline County, teachers, counselors and with site based partnering businesses. Know and follow BBBS of Salina Program Standards and Policies Assist with program development, facilitation and coordination of site based programs Assist in fund development for the agency and participate in BBBS of Salina fundraising activities Annual training for child safety, mandated reporting and others required by BBBSA EDUCATION& RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE Education Level: Minimum Bachelor's degree in social services, human services or related field. Or, Associate's Degree and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in related fields, such as social services, human services, child development or related field. Or, Four years of relevant work experience in related fields, such as social services or human services, child development or related field. Years of Related Work Experience : Experience working with both child and adult populations; specific assessment, intake or interview experience preferred. Must have car, valid driver’s license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums. Must be able to pass a criminal background check as conducted by the agency. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Proficiency in Microsoft Office; including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Oral and written communication skills reflect solid customer service. Ability to form appropriate assessment-based relationships; Ability to relate well in multicultural environments; Ability to maintain confidentiality throughout daily operations; Ability to effectively collaborate with other volunteer match staff; Ability to use time effectively; Ability to focus on details; Ability to collect meaningful data and draw solid conclusions; Ability to work in an office or remote environment. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Routine office environment. Flexible work hours. Some evenings and weekends.
