JOB ANNOUNCEMENT – Child Care Assistant Director (NEW North Oconee Campus) General Responsibilities The responsibility of the Child Care Assistant Director will include assisting the Center Director with overseeing the daily operation of the school. This position assists in the planning, developing, organizing, and maintaining the school`s programs for students, parents, and staff that support Peach State Academy. The Child Care Assistant Director must be familiar with and stay current on state childcare regulations, local and federal regulatory agencies, and always maintain compliance with them. The Child Care Assistant Director will also assist with the record keeping of the center in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. The Child Care Assistant Director will assist in providing supervision of staff’s performance and performance evaluations. The Child Care Assistant Director will work closely with the supervision of the Curriculum and weekly lesson plan implementation ensuring consistent implementations for all children in the program. The Child Care Assistant Director will provide necessary support for the owner, parents, and staff and establishes and maintains respectful and positive working relationships with state licensing personnel. A candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and have a good understanding of age-appropriate activities for young children. Assist in the day-to-day operations of the center including human resources, quality assurance, and facility operations and licensing standards Develop strong relationships with our families Maintain budget needs and responsibilities Maintain and promote a positive and upbeat environment Maintain high level of organizational, time management, and multitasking skills Provide oversight of employee schedules and payroll Oversee and maintain transportation documentation and information Assist in the interviewing and hiring of staff Assist in child and family accounting and other information Assist in the oversight of Food and Nutrition in the center Assist in scheduling special events, activities, and extra-curricular programs Assist in maintaining the website, and other social media platforms if necessary Assist in summer program and activities planning Maintain child and staff records/files Assist in the scheduling, managing and oversight of staff training and professional development Education, Skills, and Required Work Experience Minimum of Associates Degree in ECE/Child Development and five years direct experience working with children birth to five years of age, or bachelor’s degree in ECE/Child Development and three years direct experience working with children birth to five years of age. Bachelors preferred. Meet the minimum requirements set by the state childcare regulatory agency for the position of Center Director State 40-hour Director Training for Georgia Satisfactory Criminal Records Clearance as required by the state Demonstrate the following qualities: self-motivation, self-direction, ability to make good judgments, creativity, reliability, and dependability Can lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds Demonstrate the ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved and to respond immediately to any emergency Be willing to participate in continuing education as required by the childcare regulatory agency Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid Training Job Type: Full-time Pay: $34,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Work setting: Development center In-person Private school School Work Location: In person
