Information Technology Project Manager
Source One is a staffing services company and we’re currently recruiting for the following individual to work as a permanent employee of our direct client, a specialty insurance company in Tampa, FL. This company is currently moving from a legacy environment to a 100% cloud based and automated platform.
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Project Manager to lead our PMO (Project Management Office) in a lean, efficient and scalable environment. Will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of Workday (ERP and HCM) and other strategic projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Requires strong leadership capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of project management methodologies, particularly within the P&C Insurance industry. This role has the opportunity to grow into an Enterprise PMO beyond just IT projects.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, develop, and govern the PMO environment, ensuring projects are managed effectively and efficiently.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Develop and implement project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
• Develop and implement the toolset used for the PMO, including but not limited to Smartsheet, which plays a crucial role.
• Coordinate with external Workday and external Workday consultant and manage internal teams to ensure alignment and completion of project tasks. Modules to be implemented include Financials, Adaptive Planning, and HCM.
• Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies effectively, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
• Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, ensuring clear communication and alignment across all stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to project management best practices and organizational standards.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management or related field considered a plus.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager leading complex projects, including experience in leading a PMO or managing a portfolio of projects.
• Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry experience is required.
• The ability to leverage a start-up mentality to the job is needed.
• Expert-level skills with Smartsheet for project tracking, dashboards, and reporting are required.
• Knowledge of Workday, preferably management of a Workday implementation is preferred. Familiarity with Financials, Adaptive Planning, and/or HCM modules is a plus.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and PMO governance.
• Effective planning, communication and interpersonal skills, organized, efficient, resourceful, self-directed with hands-on leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on approach, capable of driving projects forward while mentoring team members.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
