About the College/Unit/Department
The Office of Student Financial Aid ( OSFA ) manages and executes the financial aid operations, programs, and processes for the campus. OSFA oversees the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid provided to the UGA student body. With approximately 42 employees OSFA has responsibility for all financial aid received by the UGA student body in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, and work programs. OSFA annually administers in excess of $500 million in student financial aid for UGA students.

Position Summary
This position serves as financial aid advisor for office communication efforts and ensures offices communications are compelling and consistent across platforms and types of media, including but not limited to: office website(s), brochures/flyers, presentations, emails, chatbot, and other types of communication with students, families, colleagues, and the broader community. Also, serves as generalist/backup for processing and service areas during peak or exceptional times.

• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies and requirements. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Routinely review office communications for consistency and accuracy.

• Serve as office generalist and provide backup work during peak volume and/or exceptional periods when service, processing, or other administrative duties are backlogged or in high demand; Maintain working knowledge of processes and service in order to accurately award and revise student financial aid in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Process and work timely numerous and complex reports which include discerning the necessary action(s) needed, monitor relevant systems (e.g., BANNER and the National Student Loan Data System ( NSLDS )) for changes to students' federal aid eligibility and revise or cancel financial aid awards as necessary;
• Reconcile award discrepancies and consult with university departments and external agencies as needed to resolve financial aid related issues, adhere to all statutory, regulatory, and policy guidance, including office policies and procedures.
