Title: HR Generalist (Payroll and Benefits)
The Human Resource Generalist manages daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including administering pay, benefits, and leave; interviewing, hiring and orientation; and enforcing company policies and practices.
• This individual will be the subject matter expert in payroll and benefits.
• This Generalist will also cross-train with the other departmental Generalist on employee engagement and retention duties.
• Authority to stop work. This authority permits any employee at any level to halt a job or task when a hazardous situation appears imminent, or they feel unsafe.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Owns multi-state payroll and benefits processes with a high level of accuracy.
• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, updates Job Descriptions
• Manages HRIS (personnel files, posting & recruiting, time tracking, leaves).
• Conducts background checks, reference checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Manages new hire orientation.
• Manages data and reporting and makes recommendations on process improvements.
• Manages work instructions, organizational chart, benefits related invoices.
• Handles payroll and benefits-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, payroll and employment law.
• Functions as backup to the other Generalist
• Other duties as required

• Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, especially related to payroll and benefits.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS; Paylocity experience preferred
Experience and Education
• Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field and/or highly relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience administering payroll, benefits, and HR compliance.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification desired or ability to obtain. CPP or CEBS certifications a plus.
Compensation details: 58750-62000 Yearly Salary
