Laboratory Manager - Geotechnical / CMT

We offer a stimulating and inspiring work environment where our employees are recognized for their efforts and achievements and are mentored for professional growth. NOVA Engineering is currently seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Manager to join our team in Greenville, SC . The Lab Manager will manage the lab's production and personnel and provide quality assurance/quality control lab testing duties for commercial, retail, educational, low—to high-rise, manufacturing, and government construction projects. Essential Functions: • Performing specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and building components such as soil, concrete, and asphalt, per ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, etc. standards.
• Maintain detailed records of observations, inspections, and test results.
• Organizing lab data, processing, and report preparation.
• Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and workspaces.
• Manage lab personnel and maintain required certifications among the laboratory team.
• Maintaining lab accreditation.
Qualifications: • 5+ Experience in a Geotechnical/Construction Materials Testing Laboratory testing and sampling
• Must have experience with soil and concrete testing and sampling along with other construction materials.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
• High-level productive use of MS Office, including Excel, Geosystems, Open Ground, and/or GNIT laboratory and soil boring programs.
• Valid State Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to mentor lab staff and work well with CMT Project Managers, Geotechnical Engineers, Field Technicians, and Inspectors.
• Strong project management abilities, including managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
