The CM is responsible for creating and maintaining strong relationships internally and with customers and suppliers with respect to all structure and content of contractual documents, discussions and negotiations. The CM works with Business Development and Program Management to set clear requirements for a project to be proposed, managed and executed to.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Provide leadership and direction on all Defense contractsIdentify and assess the primary contractual risks, opportunities and requirements and communicates them with the project teamWork with Business Development and Program Management to define the contract strategyDevelop a knowledge base of negotiating strategies, best practices, and negotiation personnel and teamsMake improvements to processes, procedures, workflow and organizational structures for contract managementWork alongside other Sales and Procurement colleagues to develop statements of work (SOWs) and understand any current requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) that are in the pipelineUphold legal and ethical practices in all mattersProvide contract-related issue resolutionManage storage of all contract-related correspondence and documentation according to company policySeek potential improvements to internal processes and tools for all contract related effortsMonitor project period of performance for close-out, extension or renewal to ensure that no gaps are left open in contractual performanceCommunicate contract related information to internal and external stakeholders including legal, DFAS, DCMA, DCAA, etc.Leads contractual change management efforts on existing contractsExperience/Skills:Due to government contracts, must be a US Citizen for positions at the North Mankato facility.4-5 years of experience in contract management preferredLegal background with relevant experience as contract manager for governmental projects preferredPreferred experience in the Defense businessExcellent professional, legal written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsNegotiation skills and experienceResilient and relentless in pursuit of targets and objectivesEducation:Bachelors degree in related fieldAdditional Job DetailsEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at NidecNidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
