ABOUT THE COMPANY Founded in 1913, Virginia Mirror Company began as a producer of mirrors for furniture manufacturers in Virginia and North Carolina. Gradually we shifted our focus to fabricated and stocksheet mirrors for residential and commercial construction. After numerous plant expansions and the most current installation of a 500 foot long, state-of-the-art silvering line we have become a leader in the mirror industry. Our mirror manufacturing and warehouse facilities have grown with the demand for our product and are located in a 176,000 square foot plant in Martinsville, Virginia. Maintain a constant flow of product through the machine to achieve maximum efficiency of equipment at all times. Since 1913, successive generations of Virginia Mirror and Virginia Glass Products' founding family have supported our business with the classic principles of quality, craftsmanship, and service. This basic philosophy has proven to be the foundation of our stability. Whether manufacturing mirrors, customer tempered glass, laminated glass, spandrel, or all glass entrances, we recognize that all glass products are not created equal .Our customers have a choice from whom to buy. We never lose sight of this. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY Assure minimal rejection, defects, and waste on the machine. Understand the plant’s basic work flow and help produce required production efficiencies. Must be able to visually inspect mirror for noticeable defects so as to ensure glass quality Inspect each piece of glass for defects based on company quality standards. Keep machine free of broken glass, trash, or other items that may hinder optimum machine performance. Employee must keep work area clean and free of broken glass at all times. Preform general maintenance and cleaning of the machine. Understanding of powered machinery, and have aptitude to operate the machinery in a safe manner that will assure required quality products for the customer May be assigned additional duties on a temporary or permanent basis as required by production management. Must be able to handle equipment and roller conveyors and have a reasonable knowledge of weight balance.
