Position Overview : We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Flooring Installer Helper. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced flooring installers while learning the skills and techniques necessary to become a proficient flooring installer. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and committed to developing a career in the flooring industry.Key Responsibilities On-the-Job Training: Participate in comprehensive training programs designed to provide a solid foundation in flooring installation techniques, tools, and materials. Shadow experienced flooring installers to observe and learn best practices in areas such as subfloor preparation, layout and cutting, installation methods, and finishing techniques. Assist with installation tasks under the guidance and supervision of experienced installers, gradually gaining hands-on experience and proficiency. Material Handling and Preparation: Assist in the preparation of installation areas, including moving furniture, removing old flooring materials, and cleaning surfaces to ensure a smooth and level base. Learn how to handle and transport flooring materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently, following established procedures and safety guidelines. Quality Assurance: Learn how to perform pre-installation assessments and inspections to evaluate subfloor conditions, identify potential issues, and recommend appropriate solutions. Assist with the layout and positioning of flooring materials, ensuring proper alignment, pattern matching, and adherence to design specifications. Customer Service Support: Interact professionally with customers and team members, providing assistance as needed and representing the company in a positive and courteous manner. Assist in addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and issues, under the guidance and supervision of experienced installers or supervisors. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for oneself and others. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots. Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials, including adhesives, solvents, and waste products. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Some prior experience in flooring installation is preferred; however, a strong interest in learning and developing skills in the trade is essential. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred but not required. Ability to follow instructions, work effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and perform manual labor tasks for extended periods.
