Position Summary
Behavioral Health Providers, Clinicians, and/or Licensed Professional Counselors most often work in mental or behavioral health counseling centers. Clinicians often interview patients, give diagnostic tests and assessments, provide psychotherapy, and may make determinations about potentials of high risk or treatments of hospitalization. Clinicians will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, other clinicians, case managers, and other providers to develop and implement treatment and intervention programs that clients can understand, agree, and comply with. This position will involve working with both youth and adult clients.
Scheduled Work Hours
Varies, but will include some evenings and Saturday hours; Hours of operation will vary based on clinic location.
Job Responsibilities And Performance Standards
• Utilize the CareLogic electronic health record to complete documentation of assessments, outreach attempts, diagnoses, etc.
• Ensure all initial and concurrent authorizations are completed by accurately filling out the required OTR and Connects forms in a timely manner
• Determine eligibility for a higher level of care (such as hospitalization)
• Determine appropriate referrals to other programs/services offered within the agency and out in the community
• Maintain communication with client or client’s parents/guardians in order to discuss missed follow up behavioral health appointments in the clinic
• Create, complete, and/or update treatment plans according to significant changes in preference, desires, goals, and abilities of the client
• Complete discharge paperwork and safety plans for clients released from MH services
• Meet standard productivity goal identified for the Access Clinician position
• Assist clients in obtaining information about essential resources when applicable
• Attend required supervision and departmental staff meetings
• Provide on-going monitoring of clients identified as High Risk until they can be transitioned to another provider for follow up services
• Other duties as assigned
Entry Qualifications
Clinician 2: Masters degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND associate licensure in the state of Georgia.
Clinician 3 : Masters degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND full clinical licensure in the state of Georgia.
