Recruiter – Great Plains Trucking - Salina, KS
Great Plains Trucking is currently seeking a Recruiter to support the recruitment of OTR Truck Drivers.
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Some overnight and out-of-state travel may be required to attend recruiting events.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Support the recruitment and selection process for GPT OTR and local truck drivers.
• Facilitates recruitment strategy meetings with hiring manager and supervisors to identify staffing needs, job duties, qualifications, and skills for vacant positions.
• Expertly manage the recruitment process, sourcing quality candidates for a range of skill sets in flatbed, van and drayage positions.
• Review applications and interview applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements. Provide information about the organization and position to candidates.
• Work directly with hiring managers in all locations to fill their positions.
• Attend community college and technical school career fairs. Present career information to high schools and technical schools to promote the company’s employment opportunities.
• Organizing travel arrangements and hotel accommodations for new hires.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
• High School Diploma and minimum 3 years’ related experience and/or training in interviewing and selection; College degree in business, human resources, or a related area of study is preferred.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, applicants, and the public.
• Proficient in MS Office and applicant tracking and recruiting platforms including ADP, Indeed.com, LinkedIn, as well as the use of social media for recruiting efforts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver engaging, powerful presentations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
