Description
The Regional HIM NPPA practice provides 24/7 coverage. This role will be primarily based in Mankato working 7a/7p or 7p/7a or 11a/11p focusing on admissions during the day and admissions/cross coverage on nights. There will be limited travel expectations to the regional sites in Fairmont, Waseca, St. James and New Prague. 
NPs / PAs will serve as an independent provider, collaborating with an on-site physician – teaming up to care for patients on the medical/surgical floor. NPs / PAs complete admissions, provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, referrals, and patient education. Orientation will take place between the hub site of Mankato and the other hospitals within the region. Additional training will be provided in Rochester and all sites in SW MN Region. Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license (or eligible) and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a FNP, ANP, or ACNP
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (or eligible)
Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privilegesOne to two years experience in the care of medical/ surgical inpatients or emergency medicine is preferred.  Prefer FNP applicants to have had RN experience in medicine and ICU care. 
ACLS & BLS required.

Special Skills: Possess ability to work independently/autonomously and interdependently with other health care professionals. Have extensive patient assessment skills using diagnostic methods and instruments and passes ability to develop appropriate plan of care, modifying as indicated. Possess effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with patients, families and members of health care team.
