Description
Rogers Group is seeking an Asphalt Milling Operator for our construction team based out of the Carolinas. The successful candidate for this position will have previous experience working around an asphalt milling machine and milling equipment to remove asphalt pavement. They must also have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Work with the team to provide a fully prepared site for the paving crew.
Wages starting at $21.00/hr. for entry level and laborers. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train. Higher pay for skilled operators of heavy equipment with highway construction experience.
Complete labor tasks around the mill
Operate broom and skid steer to clean up milled surfaces.
Assists operating an asphalt mill and related heavy equipment safely and appropriately for varied conditions and situations.
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks, cleaning, and greasing, etc.
Operate with a priority of job safety for all persons working around the equipment.
Communicate clearly with crewmembers to work as a team
Work with the team to provide a fully prepared site for the paving crew.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 1 year of previous milling or asphalt crew experience is preferred.
General and applied knowledge of the paving process and proper procedures for quality finished work
Must be dependable and show up for all assigned shifts.
Able and willing to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold for extended shifts.
Willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
Must have valid drivers license and clean driving record
Must be able to pass drug screen
