Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Position Summary
This position provides reservation services for hotel guests. The Reservations Clerk is responsible for talking with customers in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner. This position will provide customers with rates, descriptions, features and benefits of hotel accommodations, recommend room types that meet the customers' needs, and make accurate reservations in the hotel software system.

Drive revenue through the selling and upselling of reservations and room type
• Gather information about the potential guest's needs by using open and closed-end questions
• Provide the guest with an overview of the facility as well as a comprehensive description of the room types that will best fit his/her needs
• Share features and benefits of the available rooms and your recommendation prior to quoting rates
• Close the sale:
• Ask for the business
• Overcome objections
• Gather technical information for the reservation
• Verify reservation details with guest to ensure accuracy
• Explain hotel fees and policies
• Provide guest with confirmation number
• Inquire as to whether you can provide further assistance
• Sincerely thank the guest for choosing to stay with us
Percentage of time 80 Duties/Responsibilities
Create a memorable first impression of the Georgia Center by handling all incoming calls to the reservations area in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner
• Answer the telephone within three rings utilizing the appropriate greeting
• Provide a prompt, courteous, and pleasant welcome to the potential guest
• Identify yourself by hotel department and name
• Offer to assist the potential guest

Additional Responsibilities
• Participate in all training sessions and departmental meetings
• Assist front desk team members as needed to meet hotel division goals
• Complete other duties as requested
