Direct Support Professional - Lead Harry Meyering Center supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and community. In this role, you would be a liaison between the Location Coordinator, individuals, and DSP staff on scheduled shifts. Schedule: Full-Time, to include every other weekend. Wage: $20.00 per hour Job Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Location Coordinator with paperwork, house maintenance, vehicle maintenance, scheduling/attending appointments, reviewing staff training, and other duties as assigned. Participate in orientation and training of new staff Support individuals with daily living needs, including medication administration Provide supervision and assistance to others in a respectful manner Provide direct care for others in an individualized and meaningful way. Assist in personal cares. Engage in community activities, i.e., bowling, shopping, watching a movie or exercising. Complete daily direct care such as bathing, toileting, feeding, and dressing. Complete household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Maintain HIPAA Compliance in all communications to HMC, whether written or verbal, external and internal. Follows all health and safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. What are the perks? Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or general education degree. Preferred 6 months of experience providing direct care Willingness to learn. Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team environment and independently. Good communication skills. Must hold a valid United States driver's license and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier unless otherwise noted. Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study Gain practical experience that applies to the fields of Nursing, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Education, Aging Studies, Cognitive Science, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Criminal Justice, Family Consumer Science, Health Communication, Management, Special Education, Law Enforcement, Pre-Pharmacy, Emergency Medical Services, and many others.
