Position Summary The Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and coordinating the agency’s volunteer, donor and community engagement, fundraising, volunteer recruitment and marketing efforts. The role requires a creative, detail-oriented, highly organized and strategic thinker with a background in fundraising, event management, marketing and results. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina is seeking a professional to help lead sustainable growth, pursue new sponsors and partners, maintain and elevate current sponsors and partners, as well as expand development capabilities. Key Tasks and Responsibilities The following statements reflect the general duties and responsibilities of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of the position. · Marketing o Create and manage content of newsletters, press releases, videos, social media, website and other direct communication to the general community. o Oversee marketing and public relations initiatives, ensuring the messaging and material are brand compliant and specific to target audience. o Design, develop, and promote digital and print media content to support and expand the organization’s mission and branding. o Ensure we tell our story by maximizing communications with community, families, volunteers, matches and supporters. o Create and coordinate the development and production of agency collateral materials including key print pieces and promotional items including event collateral materials, recruitment materials and donor stewardship materials. o Coordinate and attend match activities in cooperation with partners/vendors. o Network and build rapport and positive relationships to recruit and retain contacts and grow partnership opportunities including local businesses, association memberships, corporate partner and agency events, chambers of commerce, diversity-focused affinity groups, etc. o Cultivate relationships and provide a menu of options to prospective contacts about the variety of ways they can support BBBS of Salina including becoming a Big, corporate sponsor, donor, special events participant, hosting a match activity, volunteering at an event, becoming a community partner, etc. o Contribute to the successful execution of special events through branding and messaging strategies. · Volunteer Recruitment and Community Engagement Develop and/or support opportunities for recruitment of children and volunteers through a range of strategies: o Work with staff to develop and implement a volunteer recruitment plan including campaigns, presentations, etc to produce the needed number and diversity of volunteer inquiries to support program service goals. o Direct community engagement efforts so Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina is strategically present and engaged within communities throughout the service area, establishing relevant collaborative opportunities, providing value, and creating a sense of belonging. o Represent the agency at relevant and strategic community events and opportunities to build a visible presence and invite engagement with our mission. o Capitalize on networking opportunities: engage actively with stakeholders and cultivate community/partner relationships when opportunities present themselves. o Facilitate information sessions for recruitment of Bigs. o Leverage role and agency connections to identify opportunities for in-kind donations (e.g., sporting events, theatre tickets, etc.) in support of match outings or quarterly events. o Non-Mentoring Volunteers Leverage new and existing relationships to identify individuals who might volunteer in other capacities within our agency Work with staff to maintain current list of opportunities for non-mentoring volunteer support (e.g., donation center, assist with events, etc.) o Facilitate bi-annual Mentor Training, in collaboration with Enrollment Specialist. o Responsible for creating and generating new contacts for: development, volunteer/child recruitment, marketing, program, etc., to assist with driving and attaining agency goals. o Represent, promote, and be able to speak about the organization at a variety of events throughout our service area to obtain new leads and contacts. o Organize and conduct information sessions, presentations, and recruitment events, as needed. · Special Event Fundraising, Planning and Execution o Ensure an organizational liaison for all third party fundraising events, providing promotional support and attending events. o Proactively engage in the community in order to identify and pursue potential sponsors and seek opportunities to establish and grow sponsor partnership. o Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, ensuring they receive exceptional customer service and ongoing engagement with the organization. o Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors to maximize financial support and participation in special event and campaigns. o Manage event budgets, ensuring that expenses are within budgetary constraints while maximizing revenue through sponsorships, ticket sales and donations. o Facilitate individual donor fundraising appeals and activities. o Develop the overall planning and management of major fundraising events to include: budget management, acquisition, cultivation and retention of event participants, solicit corporate sponsorships, logistics, pre-and post-event follow up, management of Fund Development committee, maintain timeline on all design/creative for event materials, etc. o Vendor management: oversee coordination of vendor production schedules (includes: venue contracts, collateral, save-the-dates, invitation design, printing and mailing, caterers, entertainment, photographers, and videographers) o Track and manage ticket sales / sponsorships, draft correspondence and solicitation mailings, capture new donor information and execute sponsorship benefit elements. o Participate in public relations and agency fundraising events and projects. o Assist in the development of quarterly program activities as well as coordination. Desired Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field preferred Minimum one year of marketing, business development or non-profit event or related experience Critical Skills Needed Proficient in using Adobe Pro, Office 365 Including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Teams and other software necessary to implement the marketing plan such as Canva, Constant Contact and social media platforms A positive, optimistic, and energetic personality Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work independently Capable of building and sustaining relationships with a variety of individuals and businesses Professional appearance and demeanor Flexible and adaptable to change Accuracy and attention to detail Reliable transportation and a current driver’s license Working Environment The position requires the individual to work in a shared office space. The incumbent must be willing to work some evenings/weekends as needed during events. Regular office hours are 9:00am-6:00pm Monday-Thursday and 9:00am-12:00pm on Friday.
