Hiring Range = $15.50 - 16.80\hour FLSA Status: Non-Exempt General Description This position serves as a member of the Community Outreach department, which provides various outreach services throughout eight Kansas counties including Saline County. This position will assist in the coordination of various outreach services, including but not limited to medical screenings, integrated health services, mobile immunizations, health education, and community health events. This position will provide administrative and clinical support for the Outreach department. Essential Duties 1. Responsible for assisting the Community Outreach department with day-to-day operations. 2. Assist with adult and pediatric vaccine administration events, mobile services/events, and various community health events. This may require working outside of business hours. 3. Establish, build, and maintain professional relationships with external community partners and internal interdisciplinary groups in order to collaborate outreach services.= 4. Manage activities in a cost effective, fiscally responsible manner. 5. Engage community leadership and community-based organizations. 6. Perform as a clinical medical assistant as situations warrant. Respond appropriately in emergent situations. 7. Participate in meetings and committees as required. 8. Ensure outreach stock room and mobile service area are fully stocked, cleaned, organized, etc. 9. Assist with managing and tracking incoming and outgoing outreach supplies (including medications, mobile unit supplies, medical supplies, instruments, marketing materials, donations, etc) 10. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills Required 1. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the public. 2. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 3. Must exhibit initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific orders. 4. Must exhibit professional demeanor by being helpful, courteous and efficient when interacting with other employees or outside agencies. 5. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and to prioritize tasks to provide appropriate, efficient and quality patient care. 6. Ability to anticipate and react calmly in emergency situations. 7. Effective and efficient time management. 8. Excellent organizational skills. 9. Ability to work independently and use good judgment. 10. Ability to work nights/weekends as needed for Outreach communication and events. Education and Experience 1. High school diploma; 2. Certified Nurse's Assistant and/or proof of Medical Assistant degree preferred, but not required; 3. 1 year experience in a Medical environment preferred; 5. Must have and maintain BLS certification; 6. Proof of valid Kansas Driver’s License and auto insurance; 8. Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient and employee-base.
